Game Balls for the UTSA game vs UTEP presented by Pat Clynes and The Fritz Kennel.

UTSA improved to 1-0 on Saturday with their 25-6 win over UTEP. A couple of players had good individual performances. We hand out our InsideRunnerSports game balls brought to you by Pat Clynes and The Fritz Kennel.

Offensive Game Ball: RB Jarveon Williams

For the second straight week, RB Jarveon Williams earns our offensive game ball. Williams was a work horse for UTSA’s offense Saturday night. Several of UTSA’s scoring drives were almost exclusively all Williams. All told, J-Dub rushed the ball 28 times for 133 yards with 1 touchdown. He also led UTSA in receiving with 5 catches for 45 yards. Williams 28 rushing attempts set a program record. For his exceptional performance, Williams earns our offensive game ball.

Defensive Game Ball: S Nate Gaines

For the second straight week, Safety Nate Gaines earns our defensive game ball. Gaines recorded a team-high 9 tackles on the night. But other than his normal big hitting, Gaines made some huge game-changing plays. The Sophomore from Mesquite intercepted two passes. On his second interception, he lateralled the ball to fellow Safety Michael Egwuagu and then threw two lead blocks to lead Egwuagu into the endzone for a game-sealing touchdown. Gaines is quickly cementing himself as one of the playmakers on the Hard Hat Defense. For his exceptional performance, Gaines earns our defensive game ball.
