While at LSU, an off the field incident in May of 2015 led to Jevonte Domond’s arrest and suspension from the team.
More than a year removed from the incident, Domond says he takes full responsibility for what happened.
“I take full ownership of what I did,” said Domond. “It’s behind me now. I’m just moving forward and happy with the opportunity that I have.”
Domond completed a pretrial intervention program that allowed his case to be resolved. He was reinstated to LSU, earned his bachleor’s degree this past spring, and transferred to UTSA over the summer.
First year head coach Frank Wilson recruited Domond while at LSU. Following Sunday’s practice Wilson characterized offered his support for Domond.
“I think in life we all deserve second chances,” Wilson said. “He’s done everything we asked of him. He’s abided by that even prior to coming here. So that’s something behind him. He’s a stand up guy, an outstanding citizen, a great father to his child, and we’re glad that we have him.”
