Scout.com 3-star CB Javontavius Mosley was one of a handful of official visitors UTSA hosted this past weekend.
“It was a nice visit,” Mosley said of his official visit, “It was fun, I enjoyed myself when I was there.”
Out of John Tyler HS in East-Texas, Mosley said the Alamodome and the campus really stood out on his visit. .
“It was great to experience that,” Mosley said of UTSA’s facilities, “I just can’t wait to play there.”
While Mosley enjoyed his visit, he also says he’s ready for National Signing Day.
“I’m just ready to sign,” Mosley said. “UTSA’s been talking to me just about everyday. I’m ready.”
Mosley is 6’2” and 175lbs. On film, he shows good instincts as wells as good technique.
“I’m a good coverage guy,” Mosley said. “If the ball is the air, I’m going to go up and get it. I have decent speed and good technique.”
Gabe Brooks, a Regional Analyst for Scout.com, offered the following analysis: "Mosley possesses a great frame to become a big cornerback at the next level. He plays faster than he tests and flashes good instincts, both in coverage and from a tackling standpoint. Mosley's frame potential suggests that he could potentially move to free safety in college."
Mosley says that UTSA’s coaching is planning to move CB Austin Jupe back to Safety, so he’ll have an opportunity to compete for some early playing time at the CB position.
Mosley says the University of Houston has approached him but he said that his commitment is firm with UTSA.
“I’m staying with UTSA, that’s where I’m going,” said Mosley.
Mosley expects to sign his Letter of Intent before school on Wednesday, February 1.
