OVERVIEW
Coming off a season in which UTSA’s special teams were up and down, the Roadrunners look for consistency this spring.

BIG QUESTION
Can UTSA find consistency in the kicking and return game?
The Roadrunner punting and coverage teams were very consistent in 2016. Where UTSA is looking for improvement in is in the kicking and return game. Who will step up this spring?

OUTLOOK
UTSA knows what they have in kickers Victor Falcon and Daniel Portillo. Added to the fold is walk-on Hunter Duplessis. The trio will battle for kicking duties in the fall this spring. With no clear cut leader, it seems like the FG/PAT position will be up for grabs. In the return game, UTSA loses WR JaBryce Taylor to graduation. Two players who saw time returning kicks and punts were Matt Guidry and Tyrell Clay. Both figure to be in the mix. But UTSA is in search for a top returner. A player like Marquez McNair or Kirk Johnson could emerge in the return game.

PROJECTED SPRING DEPTH CHART
FG/PAT: Victor Falcon, Daniel Portillo, Hunter Duplessis
Holder: Yannis Routsas, Brady Jones
Punter: Yannis Routsas
DS: Matt Bayliss
KR/PR: Matt Guidry, Tyrell Clay
