Recruiting For The Trenches

All Saints HS is absolutely loaded with division one talent for the 2014 and 2015 class. The Bobcat staff recently had their Lake Dallas satellite camp and after seeing this offensive lineman in person, the staff offered on the spot.

Markham Paukune attended the camp and before the camp could could even start, the Bobcat staff pulled him aside and let him know that he has an offer.

"It's my very first offer. Head Coach Dennis Franchione pulled me aside at the camp and told me they were offering me. I was pretty surprised that they offered before the camp even started at Lake Dallas," said Paukune.

He measured in at 6'4.5" and 280lbs. So far he's gotten feedback that the staff likes him in the interior of the o-line at guard. For the Saints he currently lines up at guard.

The Bobcats are his lone offer at the moment, but Rice, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Kansas, Tulsa, SMU, Dartmouth and Yale have all been in contact or showing medium to strong interest.

Paukune considers himself a balanced, but aggressive offensive lineman. For his play on the field last season he earned 1st Team All District.

The camp and the offer itself made a really good impression on Markham. Although he really likes what Texas State offers, he might be holding off a bit before he makes his final decision.

"They stand pretty high being my 1st offer. I want to make sure I wait until the end of summer though. I really enjoyed the coaching staff today, they're really high on my list right now."
