Dragon to make visit to campus

Copeland is a "Soft Commit" to NMSU but the Bobcats aren't letting that stop them from reaching out to Copeland.

Texas State has been in contact with the Southlake Carroll outside linebacker every week to check on how he is doing, his performance on the field and visiting Texas State.

He will be making a visit to San Marcos for the Bobcats next home game against Wyoming on September 28.

"I've been talking to Coach Shaw every week," Copeland said. "I'm leaning more towards Texas State, its closer to home and it has a great campus," Copeland said. "The team is doing better than NMSU. We'll win more ball games [at Texas State] when I'm on the team."

Copeland reiterated the fact that he would like to be close to home and that is one of the factors he takes in when decision time comes around.

In his first two games this season, Copeland racked up 19 tackles. His pressure on the quarterback led to an interception in the Dragons' 63-14 victory over Midland Lee last week.

Copeland is looking for a place where he can fit in with the players and coaches, a "great atmosphere and an awesome campus."

J.B. is letting the season play out; he's also been reached out to by North Texas. He says that he plans to make a final decision in the next few weeks but if he is offered again he plans on sitting back a bit more.
