Keys To The Game: Wyoming

Wyoming's high-powered offense comes to Bobcat Stadium looking for their 4th win in a row. What will the Bobcats have to do to stop that from happening? We've got the keys to success right here.

Cameron's Keys:

Running Wild:

Taking out the game against FCS' Prairie View A&M, Texas State has averaged less than 100 rushing yards per game. That's just not good enough with an offense that's conservative already. This game is on the offensive line maturing and doing a better job of opening up the rushing lanes.

Goal: 200 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns.

Leash Free:

Tyler Arndt neds to be let loose, taken out of box, off the chain. The Bobcats need to know what he can do competly, down the field in this offense. The Bobcats are going to have to take some shots against Wyoming or they might just get bulled over.

Goal: 3 plays of 40+ yards or more.

Prediction: Texas State has a chance but the offense just hasn't shown enough to make me believe that they'll have enough to keep up. They'll be better, but not good enough. Wyoming 31, Texas State 21.

Drew's Keys:

Passing TDs:

Tyler Arndt is having a season so far that hasn't relied on his passing game. Texas State will need a touchdown through the air eventually, especially if a comeback is in order.

Goal: Arndt gets 120 pass yards and his first TD through the air.

Balanced Defense:

The Bobcats need to defend the ball well in both the run and pass, considering the Cowboys haven't scored less that 34 points in a game this season. In the only game Wyoming has lost this far, to Nebraska, they still averaged 8.6 and 7.9 yards per catch and rush.

Goal: 1 interception, 3 sacks

Prediction: Wyoming 35, Texas State 24
