Hoops Commit #1
Expect Head Coach Danny Kaspar and his staff to target anywhere from 4-6 recruits for his 2014 class. On Monday night, The Texas State Basketball Staff received some very good news in the commitment of Jonathan Wiley from Houston St. Pius X. The first Texas State basketball commitment of this cycle. "I chose Texas State because it was closer to home, because of the business program and the competition of the Sun Belt Conference," said Wiley. The 6'5" 180lb wing had been on the Texas State radar since the spring AAU period. Along with the 'Cats, Northern Colorado, Weber State and Southern were all after his pledge. On the floor, Wiley plays fast, makes good reads on the court and doesn't shy away from making the extra pass. Like any natural wing, he'd rather get out in transition and use his athleticism to his advantage. He can create his own shot, slash to the hoop or step back and use a nice mid range touch. Wiley plans on signing his LOI during the early signing period in November.
