Game Balls: South Alabama

Texas State had so many key performances, it's fair to give out three this time. The passing game was a threat for the first time this season. The passing defense was the best it's been as well. Special teams gave the edge State needed.

Drew's Game Balls

1. Tyler Jones QB

Played the best game of his career against the Jaguars. He passed for 218 and rushed for another 103. The offense truly ran through him tonight in a very balanced fashion with 25 passing attempts and 23 rushing. He threw two touchdowns, and the longest completion of the season (51 yards). His 4th and 24 pass in the 4th quarter was the biggest play of the season and single handedly put Texas State in a position to win. Although he took 3 sacks and threw an interception, he rose to the occasion to put the 'Cats in position to win the game.

2. Justin Iwuji DB

The second interception of the year for Iwuji was a big one. He took an interception back for 6 points against the Jaguars that put Texas State back in the lead in the fourth quarter. The 29 yard return let everyone know what it felt like to have one go their way this season. It was Texas States first pick six since 2011.

3. Jason Dann K

The field goal kicked by Dann was the first game winner of his career. He hit a 41 yarder to seal the win for the Bobcats who rushed the field shortly after. Dann's longest of the night was from 43 yards, but also hit from 35 and 37 yards. He's been 100% this season.
