Hoops Recruiting Trail

A new era of Texas State basketball is about to tip off on Monday evening at Strahan Coliseum. We've got the latest on the recruiting trail with the early signing period only nine days away.

Two commits are already in the fold for 2014, SG/SF Jonathan Wiley (St. Pius X HS) and PF/C Austin Evans (Plano HS). With a recruiting class of 5, Head Coach Danny Kaspar and his staff are still aiming to add at least 3 more commits. Here's a quick breakdown of how the basketball recruiting board looks.

Ty Charles PG/SG Kennedale HS
Extremely versatile combo guard who the staff is targeting at the one spot. Good size and range to stretch a defense. Playing it close to the vest, but liked his visit to San Marcos. Would be a huge get for the staff.

Bryce Washington SF/PF St. Augustine HS (LA)
A thick bodied combo forward who can play multiple spots because of his length and frame. His girth will fool you when he steps out to use a nice mid range jump shot. Has TXST in his Top 5, will sign on Nov. 13.

Connor McClenaghan PF Hebron HS
Is more in the mold of a pick and pop, stretch 4 man. Has good height and length. Another target who will be committing and signing during the early period. Lists Weber State and Texas State as his top 2 choices.
