Hoops Preview: ORU

The Bobcats will face the Golden Eagles on Saturday looking for their first win and we give you a glimpse into their match-up.

On Saturday afternoon the Texas State will be taking on ORU with a 3pm tip off from Tulsa, OK. The 'Cats are in hopes of ending a season starting 2 game losing streak and expect Head Coach Danny Kaspar to push his team.

"My practices are harder, longer and you still have to work harder then you are and I know you ever have but it's not the gold standard fellas." Said Coach Danny Kaspar after the SFA game.

The Bobcats are going up against a Golden Eagle team led by sophomore guard Obi Emegano and senior forward Shawn Glover. Emegano leads ORU with nearly 22pts a game, while Glover isn't that far behind averaging 19pts. On the short season, Glover is 11 for 11 at the charity stripe too. Emegano poured in 24 points against Kansas State as the Eagles put a scare into the Wildcats.

ORU will be another tough test as they have plenty of talent and play well defensively. The Golden Eagles had an impressive stretch where they held KSU without a field goal.

"Back in June when I saw this schedule I told the appropriate people it's going to be hard for us to go better than 1 and 3 but I want to be better than 1 and 3." Said Coach Kaspar.

On the season ORU won both exhibition games it played, then beat Tulsa, 74-68 in it's season opener, and then fell just short to to KSU.

As for the Bobcats, with upcoming games against SMU, UT and Utah, they need a win to boost morale and not only that, to prove to Coach Kaspar that they are here to win, just as he expects them to.
