Keys To The Game: Arkansas State
1. Shut Down the Pass Arkansas State is one of the most efficient passing teams in the nation, and are rarely disrupted. Texas State's secondary who leads the Sun Belt Conference in interceptions has to step up and break these passes up. Texas State is also first in the conference in defensive passing efficiency, so a lot of pressure will be on them to uphold their standards. Making any offense one dimensional is key to winning on the road. 2. Share the Ball in the Backfield Texas State has showed that each back is valuable to the offense's success. This was especially apparent in the win against Idaho where Lowe, Nutall, and Gay proved effective. Nutall showed that he can be a threat in the passing game, turning short throws into big gains. Texas State has won 80% of the time when two different backs rush the ball 12 or more times. Arkansas State's running defense is nothing to brag about either, so plenty of opportunities should be had between all backs.
