Game Balls: Troy

Texas State had difficulty finishing their season in Alabama. However, although Troy beat State 42-28 there were some stand out performances in the season ending loss.

Drew's Last Game Balls

1. WR Brandon Smith
Smith finished the last game of his season with 121 total yards. His two catches for 79 yards propelled the offense on their scoring drives, and burned the secondary when given a chance. He was targeted plenty down field by DeLancellotti, something BI has harped on all season long. Smith needs the deep ball. His lone kick return of 42 yards put Texas State's offense in legitimate scoring position. He needs more opportunities next season with Erickson and other passing threats graduating.

2. LB David Mayo
Mayo finished his last game with 16 total tackles, 12 solo and 4 assisted. This put him 4 tackles ahead of any defensive player in the game, and 9 ahead of any other Bobcat defender. He didn't have the interception Bobcat Nation was hoping for, but his 2 tackles for losses helped his case as the most important defender on the field Friday afternoon.
