Recruiting Board: What's Left

One thing is certain for the 2014 class. Texas State will have a full 25 signees & more. The 'Cats are preparing to oversign, so BI gives you an inside look at what spots are still being recruited.

Currently the 2014 Texas State class sits at 22 commitments. Three commits are rated as 3 Star prospects by our National Recruiting Analysts and as a whole, the Bobcats have the 3rd best class at the moment in the Sun Belt. Only behind WKU (heading to C-USA) and Louisiana Lafayette.

There is a chance that the Bobcats could still climb in rankings as they have targeted a few other 3 Star's with DE Sekou Clark (Denton Ryan) and DB Darrion Johnson (Brenham). Johnson did not play this year for the Cubs, choosing to sit out and focus solely on his grades. It will still be difficult for him to qualify, but he has shown marked improvement in the classroom and the TXST is staying in touch. He was once a National Top 300 prospect with a 4 Star rating.

Here's a look at the positions the staff is still looking to recruit and some names that they still have their eyes on.

(2) WR: Will Young, Greg Campbell
(2) DT: Bryson Johnson, Gerardo Figueroa
(1) DE: Sekou Clark
(1) LB: Dylan Douglass, Jonathan Johnson, Christian Britt
(1) DB: Darrion Johnson

**These are just some prospects/targets, not all that are still being recruited

Be sure to check back and we'll have updates as any news comes in. Of this group, Canyon LB Dylan Douglass could be the next to pledge to Texas State. We did confirm that he was wanting to commit to to the 'Cats, but decided on taking an official visit to Yale this weekend. Once he finished his visit, a decision will be made.
