Commit #23 Is In!
Because of it's remote location, the Texas Pan Handle isn't the hottest of recruiting grounds. This Canyon HS star made sure he did everything possible to get noticed and more. Dylan Douglass, a 6'3" 230lb MLB committed to the 'Cats last week, but his pledge became official after some details were ironed out. Originally Douglass was slotted to take an official visit to Yale, but after considering everything, he decided not too after all. Dylan is now Texas State's 23rd commit of the cycle & 3rd LB for this class. He chose the Bobcats over offers from Rice and Yale. Texas Tech and UTSA had been showing interest. Douglass is projected to play inside at the linebacker spot for the 'Cats. He's well built, strong, shows good athleticism and plays with his hair on fire. He's a vicious striker and more times than not the ball carrier ends up going backwards on contact. For his play this season, he's received a dump truck full of recognition. He was selected 1st Team All State AP 4A, voted Defensive District MVP (Unanimously) 3-4A, and had a mind blowing stat sheet of 179 tackles, 17 TFL's, and 6 sacks. He was a big part of the Eagles most successful season in school history at 12-1. Dylan was not available for comment regarding his commitment, he's trying to take a break from recruiting and enjoy the holidays with family and friends. Douglass immediately transitioned over to the hardwood and is now helping the basketball team get off to a 13-3 start.
