"I'm going to Texas State for sure the weekend of January 17th. I'm just waiting for my trip. Just the fact on how much their coaches are putting into me, it sounds pretty good," said Pulu.Out of high school Pulu failed to qualify and took the juco route. This past year for Mesa JC (AZ) he had right around 70 tackles and 9 sacks. Wherever he arrives in the summer, he'll have 2 years to play 2.
Juco DT Locked In
The Bobcat Coaching Staff continues to search for D-lineman, both at the DE and DT spot. Toni Pulu, a 6'3" 270lb lineman is being targeted as a D-tackle by the staff and he recently picked up an offer from Texas State. "Texas State staff came to my practice one day. I had my first play, he called me to the side and offered me on the spot. It was literally out of the blue," said Pulu. He's already officially visited Utah State and Florida Atlantic, both of who have offers on the table. Originally from Provo, Utah, Pulu does like the thought of going back to his home state but is open to see what other programs have to offer. Kansas State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, South Alabama and Troy round out his offer list. That's not to say that more are not on the way. North Texas, BYU and Southern Mississippi have all expressed interest and made recent contact with Pulu. Toni still isn't sure what other visits will complete his recruitment, but he's locked and loaded to visit the hill country.
