3rd Commit Of The Day
Knowing the team was losing 5 seniors on the D-line, recruiting replacements was going to be crucial. After this weekend, Texas State picked up 2 more D-line commits and it's a 3-Star defensive tackle who committed to the 'Cats this evening. Toni Pulu (6'3" 290lbs) from Mesa JC (AZ) just needed some time to think about it and talk it over with his family. "After thinking about it all day and talking it over with my family, I decided to commit to Texas State. I just got off the phone with Coach Fran & Coach Schultz," said Pulu. Toni is now the 5th D-line commit for Texas State this class and 2nd d-tackle commit from the weekend joining Mershad Dillon (Hancock JC). He was pretty clear on why he chose the Bobcats. "I really like it out there. The coaches, the environment, everything was nice. I actually think I'm wrapping it up with the rest of recruiting. I'm really set with Texas State. A lot has to do with their criminal justice program too," said Pulu. The Coaching Staff sees him playing inside as a 3-technique, but when using a 3 man front, rotate to the outside. When he arrives on campus later this summer, he'll have 2 years to play 2. Over the weekend Toni weighed in at 290lbs.
