Basketball Recruiting Weekend

On Friday afternoon, a combo guard and low post player will ascend on San Marcos as they'll receive the red carpet treatment in hopes that the Bobcats can pick up some pledges.

On Wednesday evening BI broke the news that Ethan Montalvo, a 6'0" combo guard from North Platte Junior College (NE) would be taking his first official visit and it's going to be to Texas State.

Late Thursday evening our staff also confirmed that 6'7" 220lb low post target Cameron Naylor of Tallahassee Junior College will also be taking an official visit to the hill country to check out the basketball program.

In 2012, Naylor signed with North Florida University out of high school, but decided to transfer for his sophomore year. His recruitment has been water tight, but our staff does know that Naylor has an offer from the Bobcats and wherever he chooses to play, he'll have 3 years to play 2.

Head Coach Danny Kaspar and his staff have at least 3 scholarships available for the regular signing period that starts on April 16th. As we said last week, don't be surprised if at least one more sport comes open.

We'll be sure to have updates if anything goes down this weekend on the hoops scene.

Talk about this weekend's basketball visitors in our 'Cats Den Insider Forum.
