RB Gets 2nd Offer

An out of state running back target has emerged and the coaching staff recently delivered the good news.

Earlier this week, D-Tackles Coach Kyle Tatum offered a trio of teammates at Florence High School (AL). One of them was Roland Adams, a 5'11" 195lb running back and he was completely caught off guard by the offer.

"It was a complete surprise. I wasn't expecting it at all. I had never talked to him (Coach Tatum) before, he came, saw my film and liked me. I took the offer well. It's a blessing, especially to know that a team wants you and they show you some love. It's definitely a blessing and a honor," said Adams.

The Bobcats are his second offer, the Jags of South Alabama were his first.

Adams and his teammates start spring practice on Monday and a lot of college programs have let his head coach know that they'll be by to see the talent that Florence has this upcoming season. Along with his two offers, Roland is getting interest from Southern Miss, Middle Tennessee State, Arkansas State, UAB, and Miami.

Almost 200lbs, Adams has a very solid frame that could handle the load. He also reports 4.5 speed, so he brings a lot to the table from the backfield. Some schools are looking at him as an athlete, but carrying the ball is natural for him.

"I'm most definitely comfortable at running back. I'm a complete running back. I can run the ball or move out to the slot. I have great hands and some speed," said Adams.

As schools start stopping by later this spring, it's only a matter of time before Adams picks up more offers. So where does Texas State stand in his recruitment.

"It's definitely an offer that I'm considering. I'm going to consider every single offer."
