Six Pack

The flurry of offers going out this week included this Houston area defensive back as the Coaching Staff has now made him a target.

Currently the Texas State Coaches have at least six known offers out to defensive backs. On Monday, Linebackers Coach Brad Franchione let Jordon Williams of Jersey Village High School, know that he had a full ride to don the maroon and gold.

"The coaches watched us practice and after practice they offered me and Christian Taylor. Coach Brad Franchione offered me. It did catch me catch off guard," said Williams.

Texas State is now his sixth offer: Utah, Iowa State, UNT, Rice, and Houston have all offered. That's not to forget Baylor, Northwestern, Boise State, and Wake Forest have all been in contact or stopped by Jersey Village this spring to get a first hand glimpse of Williams.

On the filed Williams primarily lines up deep in the secondary at free safety and the Texas State Staff would like to keep him there.

"He likes me staying at safety. It depends on what the DB's coach says, but most likely safety," said Williams.

Currently Jordon and his teammates are in the middle of Spring Ball. They are scrimmaging every Friday and he's enjoying every moment of it as the Falcon's defense is pretty solid and looks to have a handful of D1 prospects this year.

Williams is somewhat familiar with San Marcos as he likes to travel and has been to the San Marcos Tanger outlet malls. Who in their right mind hasn't been to the outlet malls? Jordon knows a good deal when he sees one. So with being a little familiar with San Marcos, will he be getting to know the Bobcats more?

"I haven't known much about their recent football history. Now with an offer, it makes me want to see what it's all about."

The Texas State Staff also offered teammate Christian Taylor, a 6'2" 185lb strong safety. We'll have an update with him as well shortly.
