More Attention on Defense

This running back made his mark on offense during his Junior campaign, however this year he wont seem to leave the field at all. He'll be picking up a new role as a linebacker next season.

Marcus Odell is a 6'1 215 lb RB/LB out of New Braunfels HS who's stock is only sure to rise. Once coaches see him in action, due to his size and ability to race up, down, and across the field, running a 4.56 40 is eye popping for a linebacker. As a power running back Odell was used to "running over" defenders, next season he'll have his opportunity to "run through" ball carriers as well.

"I played a lot of linebacker in middle school, but this will be my first opportunity in high school. My coaches just looked at my skill set and decided to make the move. We are both confident that it will be a very beneficial move for both the team and myself," said Odell about his new role.

Marcus currently has no official offers, however he has several schools showing interest for him to play LB at the next level even this early in the recruiting process, including UTSA, Houston, UTEP, Arkansas, Colorado, and Texas State. Odell has already attended Junior Day and the spring game at Texas State. The Bobcats looks to be ahead of the game on this sleeper recruit, and definitely have an edge in location, being located only 20 minutes from his house.

"Education and quality coaching, are the qualities i would like to see most in the program i choose, it would be nice to stay close to home, but i just plan to choose whatever school is best for my future."
