8 is Enough

Yesterday Texas State added it's final addition to the 2014 class in this juco big man. Here's our latest on how the class rounded out.

Head Coach Danny Kaspar and his staff were still after adding some much needed size with the regular signing period coming to an end. On Tuesday afternoon they picked up the much needed commitment of Ed Seay from Missouri State West-Plains JC.

Seay is a 6'8" 220lb low post who can play with his back to the basket, and use his frame to do work down low. He carries his 220lbs rather well and he knows how to use it. He doesn't hesitate to establish his position and then sets up effective seals that he can hold because of his size. Around the hoop he's got a nice soft touch with either hand. Seay can go inside or out. He's got mid-range game and can be a set shooter who can drain the occasional three.

Just like Emani Gant was, Seay is a three year transfer. He leaves West-Plains after his red shirt freshman year, so he will have three years to play for Texas State.

This past season for the Grizzlies, Seay averaged 9pts and 6rebs. He drew solid reviews from Juco big man Scouting Legend Jerry Mullen as the year went on. Now, he's a part of the 2014 class for Texas State and will be suiting up in the maroon and gold come November.

The addition of Seay completes Coach Kaspar's haul for the 2014 class. The Bobcat staff welcomes 7 signees and 1 senior transfer to round out the 2014 group.2014 Recruiting Class
