FS Drawing Interest

This Free Safety out of Palm Beach Gardens High School (FL) has all the instincts to be a big time player at the next level. Texas State is showing interest and could be extending an offer soon.

Anthony Lane is an electrifying player in the secondary who flies to the ball on every play and has a continuous motor that never quits. Lane, at 5'10 180-pounds and runs a 4.6, posses the rare ability to play coverage with a 37 inch vertical, help in the run game while delivering big hits in the open field, and takes the ball to the house when given even the slightest opportunity.

"I'm a ball-hawk type player who just reacts to the ball. I use my speed to get myself in good position, and I am good at making the play when I get there, making picks and making tackles," said Lane about his own abilities.

In just Lane's Junior season, he recorded 63 tackles, eight interceptions, three FF, two FR, and a sack, while being named to 1st Team All-County and receiving Honorable Mention All-State honors. His performance last season caught the eyes of several programs and was good enough to receive offers from Florida Tech, Tennessee State, and Ave Maria University. It's led to interest from Western Michigan Temple, Buffalo, Miami, Appalachian State, and Texas State. Lane also told BI that an offer from Texas State was eminent.

"I want to go to a program that has a great head coach, has a team atmosphere, that teaches the young players, and has a great core of leaders. I have no problem in playing out of state," said Lane on what he wants in a program.

Lane says he will make his decision whenever he feels comfortable and does not plan on abiding by a certain time-line. Time is what will tell us if Lane goes from Texas State prospect, to target.
