Andrew Martel out of Foster HS in Richmond (Texas), is a player with speed and power coming out of the safety position that will keep receivers second guessing when coming over the middle of the field. Texas State is showing heavy interest and will look to reel this target in and turn him into a commit.
"I'm a hard hitting physical safety that flies to the ball and likes to play downhill. I'm a very aggressive safety, but i am a smart player who can make plays with my coverage skills as well," said Martel about what he brings to the table.
Martel currently holds seven total offers including UTSA, Air Force, Navy, Nevada, Northwestern, North Texas, and Texas State. The running is seemingly between the three Texas schools that currently have offered him, while Texas State and UTSA would be slight favorites due to equal proximity.
" I would like to stay close to home and go to a school with a family atmosphere, other than that I just want to go to a good football school that also has good academics," said Martel about the school he plans to choose.
Martel will visit Texas State this Friday and will look to make an impression, as Coach Franchione has already made two visits to him in Richmond. The BI staff will follow up with Martel on Friday to get his thoughts on his visit.
