Offer For OT

The Bobcats are looking to keep size coming in on the O-Line and have made it one of their primary focuses this recruiting class.

Texas State loves to see a healthy Quarterback with time to throw and lanes for their running game, who doesn't? Zach Lucas of Taylor HS is a 6'5 290-pound OT who's size alone would make him a prospect at the next level. BI caught up with Lucas and he commented on his own ability.

"I think what sets me apart is how hard I play and just trying to be more physical than the guy across from me. I am more known as a pass blocker because of how well i use my hands," said Lucas

Lucas currently has offers from Oregon State, Houston, Louisiana Lafayette, Colorado, Missouri, Minnesota, Fresno State, Arizona State, Rice, and Texas State. Coaches Brad Franchione and Brad Bedell have both been to see him this spring and Coach Bedell extended the offer just this last week over the phone.

On the verge of a dozen offers, competition for Lucas will be stiff. He knows what he's looking for in a program and the Bobcats could very well be in line for a visit from the 3-Star rated prospect.

"Education, how the players are treated, and how the players feel about the coaches, are the most important things when I am evaluating the program I choose. I will be taking a visit to San Marcos sometime in the next couple weeks," said Lucas
