Because of possible weather concerns, the Texas State Camp from last Thursday was moved from outdoors at DeSoto, to indoors at Lancaster High School. The change in venue didn't stop Johnny Durham from tearing it up and nabbing a Texas State offer.
"I was doing good in drills. They started grading the 40 and shuttle and I wasn't letting anyone down there. Towards the end of the camp Coach Fran pulled me over to the side, we discussed some things and he offered. I was getting close to an offer, you can feel it throughout the recruiting process," said Durham.
Johnny says that the Bobcats have been on him for a while. He attended their Junior Day back at the beginning of February and has been on campus before. Along with Texas State, Air Force, New Mexico, Illinois State, Stephen F. Austin and Cornell are his six pack of offers.
It doesn't look like his offer count will stop there either. Texas Tech, Kansas State, Purdue, and Stanford are all showing interest in the Aledo defensive back. At the camp he measured in at 6'0" 175lbs, ran a 4.46 40 yard dash and a 4.0 20 yard shuttle.
While working out, Durham was able to get a first hand feel for the Coaching Staff and add that to the fact that he's already been on campus, the Bobcats are getting some serious consideration.
"I like them. I like the Coaching Staff and I felt I connected with them. I've been to the Junior Day and now the camp. I kind of feel like family already. I feel like I could get playing time there and I'm definitely considering it."
Durham does plan on making a decision before the start of his senior season, so all programs that have gotten on him early could have a leg up.
