Pure Athlete

This athlete is used all over the field at his HS, however the safety position is where this target shines the brightest. Athletes are always an important tool, as they will find a way to utilize their abilities in one facet or another.

Cade Erwin, is a 5'11 180-pound Safety/ATH out of Marcus HS, who has the potential to be quite a player at the next level with 4.54 speed and great instincts. Texas State is the latest to make Erwin an offer and the Bobcats already have a good reputation in his book.

"I have a lot of friends that went to Texas State and they all said they really love the school. It means a lot to hear good reviews from people I know that have already experienced what they have to offer," said Erwin

Erwin currently holds offers from North Texas, Southern Methodist, Eastern Michigan, Air Force, and now Texas State. Just a few days after receiving the offer, Cade made his way out to Lake Dallas camp to familiarize himself with the coaching staff, although he did not participate in workouts. Erwin said he plans to commit before the start of his Senior season.

"I am looking for a winning program that is potentially ready to play in and win a bowl game. The closer I am to home the more intriguing the school is to me, however other factors are more important, like education," said Erwin on what he is looking for in a program.

As a Junior Erwin recorded 79 tackles and two interceptions in just eight games on his way to being named Unanimous 1st Team All-District Defense, 2nd Team All-District Offense, and 1st Team All-Denton County Defense. BI asked Erwin about the type of player he is on the field.

"I am the true definition of an athlete. I pride myself on being fast to the ball, I don't shy away from contact, and I am good at making plays on the ball in the air. Overall I would consider myself a ball hawk type player," said Erwin.
