DE Enjoyed Visit

Texas State has eight known offers out to defensive ends. It's always critical to recruit the big bodies and this D-End target visited San Marcos this past week and is high on the 'Cats.

On Monday, R.D. Wegmann of Rider High School made the 5 hour drive with his family from Wichita Falls down to Texas State. The staff offered back at the end of May and he wanted to get a first hand glimpse of what the Bobcat program has to offer.

"The visit went great. I was very impressed with the facilities and the town as well. San Marcos would be a great place to live for the next four or five years of my life."

He stopped short of naming any favorites, but reiterates that Texas State is definitely in the mix. His other offers at the moment are from Air Force, North Texas, and Colorado State.

The visit really impressed R.D. and his bond with the Bobcat Coaching Staff is something that is leaving a mark and carrying weight with him.

"The Coaches were the best part. Literally, every time I came into a room they knew who I was and they knew my family. Coach Fran was great to talk to as well. He's definitely a player's coach from what I can see and that's what I'm looking for," said Wegmann.

R.D. still isn't quite sure on when he'll make a decision, but ideally he hopes it could be before the start of his senior year. When he feels that certain level of ease and comfort, he'll make his decision and he plans on sticking with it.
