Bobcats Break Top 3

This OLB has Texas State in his top three schools as his decision date approaches. He recently visited San Marcos for the fourth time and both sides are showing a lot of interest.

Diamon Cannon stands at 6'3 210-pounds, runs a 4.59 40YD dash , has a 33 inch vertical, and a nose for the ball. Cannon excels at playing the run, but is also very effective covering the pass. He sees an opportunity from some PT next year at Texas State and it has his eye.

"Texas State is graduating three LB's next year, which would give me a good chance to play early, and I like San Marcos, its not too big or too small," said Cannon on what he likes about Texas State.

Cannon's top three includes Texas State, UTSA, and North Texas, while Kerry Walker, Cannon's Teammate, includes Texas State, North Texas and UTSA in his own top three. Cannon and Walker are friends and Cannon did not rule out the possibility of the two deciding to take their talents to the same school. At the same time, Diamon does have long term goals.

"I want to go to a program where I can get an accounting degree and where I feel I will have a chance to be successful," said Cannon.

Diamon keeps in contact with Coach Kyle Tatum by Twitter, and says they talk about every other week. The Bobcats are in good standing at this point in Cannon's recruitment, pending a visit to UNT and UTSA, we could hear the results of his decision in about another month.
