3 Star Tours Campus

Galena Park North Shore High School churns out FBS recruits with the best of them in the State of Texas. This O-lineman is another top prospect and he recently visited the Bobcats.

Last Friday Tyler Moore had a busy day. His first stop was San Marcos to get a personal feel with the Texas State program and then afterwards he attended UT's "Friday Night Lights" event. Our BI staff was able to catch up with the O-line target for a recap.

"My visit was nice. I really like the campus and how they have a river in the middle of it. We got there while camp was going on, we got to look around and see the coaches in action. We toured campus afterwards and got plenty of 1 on 1 time," said Moore.

Since we last spoke with the big O-lineman, he's dropped 10lbs and he's looking even leaner. He still stands in at 6'5", but has trimmed down to 310.

Scout.com National Recruiting Analysts have Moore ranked as the 8th best Center in the nation, earning him a high 3-Star rating. Because of his size, the coaching staff feels he could play all three positions, but are letting him know that they are recruiting him for the interior, either as a center or guard.

As a junior he played center/guard for North Shore and as a senior he's still not sure where he's going to line up. He begins two a days about a week before the start of the school year in late August.

Moore currently has nine offers, with programs such as Texas, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, Oregon State, Texas State and others vying for his commitment. Tyler did reiterate that he doesn't have a set date or time-line for a final decision, but does plan on narrowing down his choices to a Top 5 or Top 6 by the start of his senior year.

The competition is heavy for Moore, but already getting him on campus and coming away with a good visit only helps Texas State's chances.
