Commit Tracker: Justin Gamble

This 3-Star wide-out raised some eye brows with his commitment early on to Texas State. It's been more than two months since he made the call and our staff checks in with him.

Justin Gamble ended up choosing Texas State over an offer from Texas Tech early on in the recruiting process. In fact, he was the second commitment of the 2015 cycle to Head Coach Dennis Franchione.

His 6'0" 175lb frame, along with 4.52 speed, made him a top priority for the staff at the WR position. As his summer is just about over, he tells us what he's been up to.

"Summer was good. We start two a days on Monday. I'm just trying to relax at this point and getting ready for that. I still workout and catch 100 passes a day with my teammate," said Gamble.

WR's Coach Jason Johnson has stayed in contact with his future Bobcat wide-out.

"Coach Johnson has been in contact with me. He always tells me that he's fired up about me being a Bobcat. We talk about everything," said Gamble.

Justin is trying to see if his schedule will have a break in it to make the drive down to San Marcos and catch a practice as the Bobcats have started fall camp.

With his senior year right around the corner, it's been somewhat of a plus to have such a hectic schedule as it's kept him from thinking about his last year on the high school scene.

"I guess it hasn't hit me yet. I guess once we put on pads and play the first game, it might hit me. For the season, my team goal is that we do better than we did last year. Our record is getting better and better. My personal goals, I just want to make the playoffs," said Gamble.

He has no new offers to report since committing to Texas State. He does consider himself a Bobcat commit, but is still weighing options.
