Uluocha Talks Commitment

DT Josh Uluocha decided to have his decision in before the start of next season. BI caught up with him to see what was the catalyst for picking the Bobcats.

Josh Uluocha is a 6'2 275-pound player, with 4.8 speed and an above average jump off the line. On Friday, Uluocha called Coach Brad Franchione and told him he wanted to make it official and commit to Texas State.

"I talked it over with my parents, and we both decided it was the best decision for me," said Uluocha. "My friend from my hometown, Easy Anayama, is transferring from Texas, and another one of my friends who just graduated is also going, and it helped make my decision a lot easier, knowing I have that support group."

Uluocha was also considering offers from UTSA and Army. However he said that Texas State just had more of what he was looking for. The Bobcats had the edge in a few areas, and Uluocha commented on just what that was.

"Overall I chose Texas State because of the beautiful environment and good people. I just wanted to be around passionate people who are striving to improve every day," said Uluocha.

Josh told BI that although he has committed to Texas State, has not shut down his recruitment 100 percent and it sounds like he is open to the possibility of more lucrative offers being extended during or after next season.

It seems like the Bobcats have his serious interest, however, they will have to continue to pursue him like just another target.
