Commit Tracker: Blake Peterson

This QB commit made the trip all the way down from Kansas for his visit earlier in August. BI caught up with him to see what he thought.

QB Commit, Blake Peterson of Washburn Rural High School (Topeka, KS) took the long road trip down to San Marcos a few weeks ago and had his decision reaffirmed before his departure.

"The campus was beautiful, the stadium and facilities were awesome," said Peterson, " I got to attend and stay for a whole practice. They really get after it, it's a lot different than HS ball, and it gets me excited to start playing here already."

Peterson is already preparing to play at the next level by trying to add size and work on his ability to read defenses, and control the game from before the snap. Peterson says he is 100 percent a Bobcat, and will not entertain any other offers.

"I am shutting down my recruitment," said Peterson, "The coaches really made me feel like they will take care of me like a son. That made me feel really confident in my decision knowing I will be so far from home."

Peterson stands 6'3" 195lbs and considered a dual threat QB. National Recruiting Analysts currently have him rated as a 2 Star prospect. He committed to Texas State back in mid-June. His commitment came only 24 hours after the Bobcats had picked up another QB commit in Steele's L.G. Williams.

He is considered one of the best prospects in the entire state of Kansas. Texas State was his first offer and with interest at the time of his offer coming from Tulsa and Kansas State, Blake chose to don the maroon and gold.
