Combo Guard Has TXST On Top

This prospect out of DeSoto HS has caught the attention of Head Basketball Coach Danny Kaspar. BI caught up with this combo guard to check in on his recruitment.

EDRIC DENNIS is a 6'4 180-pound SG/SF who is long and athletic, can attack and finish while possessing a nice stroke from the arc. Coach Kaspar took the trip up to Dallas to see his talent for himself.

"Coach Kaspar and I talked afterwards about where I would fit in and about how he could see me playing as a combo guard for them. He said that he loves my character and energy and it would be great for me to come in and bring that to the team," said Dennis. "He also said that I will have a fair chance at coming in as a freshman and earning minutes."

Edric holds several offers including, Louisiana-Monroe, Texas-Arlington, Hartford University, Southern University, and Prairie View A&M. With the Head Coach visiting him recently, Texas State is showing strong interest.

Dennis has strong ties to the Bobcat's newest commit, Ka'Juan Malveau, whose recent decision has even increased his interest more. Malveau and Denis both played for the Texas Titans AAU team as kids, and have remained good friends ever since.

"We already knew that they were talking to both of us, and Texas State really jumped up on my list after I talked to Malveau. Now I am really trying to set up a visit, probably some time in early October," said Dennis.

Edric's sister is currently a Junior at Texas State, and he maintains that the Bobcats are number one on his list even before the official offer has arrived. Pending his transcripts, he is fairly certain that an offer will be extended his way. Dennis will make his decision after he has made some visits, and BI will be sure to follow up, especially if he makes a trek to San Marcos.
