Target Planning A Visit

This target can either play on defense or offense. The Coaching Staff feels he can play both, he has an offer and is looking to visit soon. We have the latest.

About midway through the season, Cedar Park Coaches approached Myles Cheatum about a position change, going from the D-line to Tight End/H-back. It caught him somewhat by surprise and now he's been showing off his athleticism and versatility.

"I didn't really ask for it, I did it a little in the spring. We had some key guys go down and I like playing it a lot," said Cheatum.

Myles' recruiting has stayed active as he still holds five offers: Texas State, Fresno State, Louisiana Tech, North Texas and San Diego State, are all vying for his commitment. He had a busy summer and has already visited multiple schools.

"I went out to Cali and visited both of those schools. I went to Texas State this summer, and I've visited North Texas and Louisiana Tech. I'm visiting Texas State again in about two weeks for the Georgia Southern game. They've already offered me, they're kind of keeping up with me and the recruiting. They're telling me they want me to play both ways if I go there," said Cheatum.

He and his teammates are 5-3 on the season as they get ready for Eastview High School this weekend in preparation for a playoff run.

Right now, Myles stands in at 6'3.5" and is down to 245lbs, his current playing weight.

Cheatum admits that he likes something about all five of the schools that have offered him, he even went as far to say that deep down he kind of knows which school he'd like to commit too, but he's going to keep that to himself for the time being. Expect him to announce a decision close to National Signing Day.

The Texas State Coaching Staff is hot on him as both Secondary Coach Jason Washington, and Defensive Tackles Coach Kyle Tatum are leading the charge. The staff has been telling Myles that if he becomes a Bobcat, he could have the opportunity of playing on both sides of the ball and that really intrigues him.

"Being able to play both ways, I like that opportunity a lot. It would give me a better chance to show my athleticism and versatility, and all the different things I can do on the field."
