NMSU: Players Of The Game

Las Cruces this past Saturday was host to another important Sun Belt win. BI has their "Players of the Game" from this past weekend.

Senior RB Terrence Franks finished Saturday, with 10 carries for 64 yards and a score, to go along with his blocked punt and return for another touchdown. Franks scored his two touchdowns within 45 seconds of each other, which provided the tone for the second half.

Terrence had 123 all purpose yards if you are in to counting return yards. The coaching staff obvious has been looking for more ways to get Franks involved and it payed dividends in this one, inserting him into the kick return game.

Defense (Co-Players of the Game):

Linebackers David Mayo (Sr.) and Trey McGowen (Jr.) combined for 29 tackles this past weekend. For the second straight week these two have led the team in tackles, and served their role in cleaning up and filling in running lanes.

Mayo recorded a new career high in tackles for loss with 2.5, while McGowen just continues to add to his career numbers in his first season as a starter. In what was a rough day for the defense, both were able to make just enough stops to secure the win for Texas State.
