TE Is #17

The staff was eyeing one tight end for the 2015 class and late Wednesday evening, they got'em. This Juco target made the call to pledge Texas State and chose the 'Cats after his visit.

The good news just kept coming in for Texas State athletics on Wednesday night. First, the men's basketball team scored a win over Lamar. They were then greeted with the news that they picked up a third signee right before the close of the early signing period. To cap the night, Dennis Franchione and his football staff would also got some positive recruiting news, picking up the one tight end they were aiming for.

Chris French, a 6'4" 240lb Tight End from Saddleback Junior College made the call late Wednesday night and let Texas State know he was committing. Because of how late the news came in, we were not able to speak with French, but his commitment is confirmed, and is a much welcomed addition.

French took his official visit two weeks ago when the 'Cats hosted Georgia Southern. Despite the loss, he was convinced with what he saw, and chose Texas State over offers from Iowa State, Illinois, and Indiana State. A huge bonus in landing French, is that he's a full qualifier and will have 3 years to play to play 3, and is a mid year transfer to Texas State enrolling in January.

The Bobcat staff was targeting one tight end for this class, so the position is now considered full.

Talk about French' commitment in the 'Cats Den Insider forum.
