Leaning Towards TXST
Javante O'Roy is anxiously awaiting for all of his course work and academics to check out as he prepares to be a mid-year transfer and take some recruiting visits. He currently has 3 offers: Western Carolina, South Alabama, and Texas State. As we checked in with O'Roy he was just in the process of reaching out to the staff staying in contact. "I've been talking with Coach Washington. Contact has been about every 2 weeks with him, but I've been talking to the staff on a week to bi-weekly basis," said O'Roy. Recently, UNLV has called and reached out to Javante, along with a couple of other schools, but he maintains that the Bobcats are at the top for him and he hopes to get a visit soon once the academics are said to be good to go. "I'm leaning more to Texas State right now. There are some schools I'm talking to that I would be interested in, but definitely right now Texas State," said O'Roy. "I have no visits set up, but I'm planning on taking one to Texas State once some class stuff gets cleared." If he does not get the go ahead to be a mid-year transfer, he's still set to graduate in May. Wherever he lands, he will have 3 years to play 2, with his red shirt year still at his disposal. Currently Javante is standing in at 6'0.5" 180lbs. The staff is recruiting him as a cornerback. On the year for Palomar JC, he registered 55 tackles, 7 PBU's, 3 FF's, and 2 INT's. He helped lead Palomar to a 7-4 record and a Juco bowl victory.
