Mississippi ('Ole Miss), Mississipi State, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Texas State are among his offers and the University of Texas has expressed interested as of late, saying they could extend an offer once they see his SAT scores. Co-Offensive Coordinator Jeff Conway is the lead in Edwards recruitment for the Bobcats and has been keeping in good contact with him.
"I am looking for a program with a good schedule, where they play good teams. I want to go somewhere that has a good coaching staff, has nice facilities, and I would prefer it if they were close to home," said Edwards.
Edwards says that it would be really big if he could go somewhere were his family could come to see his games and right now Texas State is the only school in the state that he is currently considering. Javier was on hand to see the Bobcats dismantle Arkansas State in San Marcos a few weeks ago and said he was really impressed with his visit.
" It was really cool, I saw a couple of people I knew there. I got to take a tour of their weight room and see their new locker rooms that were really nice. I will be back sometime in January to take a full tour of the campus and see everything that Texas State has to offer," said Edwards.
Javier will take all of his visits in January, and will wait until he has completed all of them to make his decision. He says that his current top three includes 'Ole Miss, Kansas State, and Texas State. As long as Texas does not make an offer late, the Bobcats have the sole home state advantage and could snag themselves an SEC caliber prospect.
