"All of my credits are ready, and if I decide to, I can graduate at the end of the semester and be in San Marcos for the Spring semester. I am undecided at this point, because I would like to still play baseball this season, but I will know here in the next few weeks," said Peterson.
As a Junior Blake led the Washburn-Rural Blues to 19-4 record and eventually into the Kansas State Baseball Tournament, as the the starting pitcher. He throws an 88 mile per hour fastball and could still look to return as a Senior and take his team further into the tournament than last year. Peterson is not currently being recruited by Texas State to play baseball, however it is a possibility for him in the future.
" In my home visit with Coach (Jeff) Conway last week, I had asked him about the possibility of being a two sport athlete and he said that they would like me to just play football for the time being, but that its not out of the question for the future. He also said that most likely I will red shirt as a freshman, but it all depends on how I perform once I get on campus. I told him that was fine by me, I can tell they have their guy for the next couple of years, but I will be ready when my time comes," said Peterson.
Right now it's up in the air whether Blake will make the trek to San Marcos early or wait to join the team this summer. One thing is for sure, his commitment is strong with the Bobcats and his competitiveness is top notch, making him a perfect fit for maroon and gold.
