Returning Stat Leaders:
1st Team All Conference corner David Mims will be the anchor of the TXST secondary. He returns with his team high 5 INT's and 48 tackles. At safety, Aaron Shaw who surprised many by earning one of the starting safety spots after fall camp, registered 44 stops and returns. Germod Williams, in only 9 games tallied 35 stops and 4 picks, will also be one of the secondary leaders returning in his junior season. At both positions, there is plenty of talent on campus, but it remains unproven. Spring ball and fall camp should have some heated competition to fill out the starting spots.

Senior(s) Lost: Craig Mager, Colby Targun, Brandon Jones

Two long time secondary staples in Mager and Targun will have to be replaced. Texas State loses it's 4th and 5th leading tacklers. Mager led the Bobcats with 10 PBU's, 13 deflections, and was the team's leading punt returner. Targun provided key sparks for TXST whether it was roaming the secondary or making plays in the box.

Current Commits (2):
Javante O'Roy 6'0" 190lbs (Mid-year signee)
Johnny Durham 6'0" 170lbs

The mid-year signing of O'Roy is to ease the departure of Mager. O'Roy is a versatile DB who can play either spot, but has been signed to fill in at corner. Durham is a corner as well, and is set to join the team after high school graduation. His frame is similar to O'Roy's and he also has plenty of speed to use in the secondary.
