2015 Recruiting Wrap Up

We've got a look at whats next for Texas State as the class sits with 24 commitments. Is the staff done? Any academic risks and what about plans for a Junior Day. That and more in our wrap up.

When Kwamane Bowens committed to the Texas State Staff this past Sunday, that put a bow on the 2015 class. With 24 commits this class is now full at every position. Meaning that targets like Austin Corbett, Isaiah Edwards, Steven Eddings, Donta Thompson and a few others are now off the table. So what's next?

The staff will still be sure to do it's due diligence in case something doesn't go according to plan. Whether that be a decommitment, or an academic risk. A source went as far to say that the staff honestly does not expect any decommitments, unlike last year's class where there was a flurry of decommits leading up to signing day.

From a grades standpoint, we were not able to confirm any names of current commits, but there are 2-3 who are close to the cutting line that the coaches are watching, but are expected to be ok as long as they finish strong with classwork.

So with the 2015 class all filled up, Texas State has already turned it's attention somewhat to the 2016 class in preparation for it's "Private" Junior Day. The Bobcats will not be having a blanket Junior Day where everyone is invited. It's the exact opposite, TXST wants to focus on key prospects and targets in a small group, and show them they are the hand selected few who they would like to strongly consider being a part of Bobcat football going forward.

As names of prospects and targets start to surface for Junior Day, we'll be sure to start a running list in the forum.
