Targeting a "Boom"

This tall, rangy defensive end from East Texas was offered by Texas State during their junior day and we have the latest on his recruitment.

You can never have enough bodies on either side of the trenches, as the Texas State staff is making it clear they are looking to take one to two D-Ends for the 2016 class. One of those targets is Bronson “Boom” Massie, a weak-side defensive end out of Lufkin high school who is pretty quick off the edge, using his 4.61 speed as an advantage against most tackles.

With the Bobcats offer, Massie adds another program to his list that covets his services. He received the offer from the Bobcats during his visit and enjoyed what he saw.

“It went really good, I liked the staff and the coaches. The equipment, school and facilities are also really nice", said Massie.

Boom has two more visits lined up later this month, at the University of Houston and Louisiana Tech on March 15. He also plans on taking visits to Texas A&M, LSU, and Michigan State eventually.

He already holds offers from Cal, Texas Tech, Texas State and Louisiana Tech. He doesn’t know for sure when he's going to decide where his future school is but he does have a top list of schools he’s interested in.

“Texas State, Cal, Missouri, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, LSU, Michigan State, are schools that are at the top of my list, “ said Massie. No doubt the Texas State staff will be on him hard, and the Bobcats are also keeping an eye on a couple of his teammates, DE/LB JaCory Miller (6’2” 205lbs) and OL Jerrod Johnson.

Talk about Massie’s recruitment in the Cats Den Insider forum.
