SAN MARCOS, Texas – Several former Texas State football players will try to take their next steps towards the dream of playing in the NFL when they attempt to catch the eye of an NFL coach or scout at Texas State’s annual Pro Day beginning at 4 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium.

The players scheduled to participate are 18 former Bobcat players, including 11 seniors from last season’s team. The 11 seniors are Terrence Franks, Ben Ijah, Will Johnson, Brandon Jones, Craig Mager, David Mayo, Bradley Miller, Michael Odiari, Michael Orakpo, Colby Targun and Charlie Will Tuttle.

The other former Bobcat players include Isaiah Battle, Jamie Clavell-Head, Marcus Curry, Andy Erickson, Aaron Matthews, Shaun Rutherford and D.J. Yendrey.

Johnson and Mager participated in the NFL Draft Day Combine in February, and will have a second chance to improve upon their previous numbers if needed.

In addition to the former Bobcat players, three other players are scheduled to participate. They include former Oklahoma linebacker Tom Wort, who served as a graduate assistant coach at Texas State last season. The other two are former West Texas A&M wide receiver Anthony Johnson and Angelo State linebacker Rush Seaver.

Each of the players will have measurements taken for height, weight, hand span and arm span. The most popular drills will include the bench press, vertical and long jumps, 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, 60-yard shuttle and a three-cone drill. Scouts may also have players perform in one-on-one or position specific drills.
