3rd Commit Is In
Devin Williams did have Texas State as his leader, over other offers from Charleston Southern and Navy. As we spoke with him earlier this week, San Marcos was definitely a destination for his college choice, but a decision would probably come later this summer. After his mid-week visit to TXST with teammate and fellow target Michael Badejo, Williams saw everything he needed to and committed to Head Coach Dennis Franchione and his staff. The Bobcats have recruited him strictly as a quarterback. With his ability to scramble and make plays with his feet, the Coaching Staff covets that ability in a Dual Threat QB when running the zone read-spread offense. He can throw the ball down the field and adds a nice touch with it. Devin's commitment is the 3rd one of the 2016 class for Texas State, and similar to last year's class, is the 2nd QB of the cycle to pledge early on. Almost a carbon copy of Blake Peterson and L.G. Williams commitments for the 2015 class.
