TXST Offers 1st Again

Having versatility is never a bad thing. This Junior College "Slot back" can play in the backfield or as a receiver, and now he has a Texas State offer.

In the last few days, Texas State has targeted a few juco prospects from the State of Arizona. The newest being Terrell Aldridge, a 6'0" 193lb slot back from Arizona Western Junior College, who is originally from Texas and knows a little about the program.

"Coach Schultz came to the school on Monday and offered me. I know about Texas State, I've been there a few times most of my friends go to school there. I've visited, it's a nice campus, and really easy to take in," said Aldridge.

The Bobcats are the first program to offer Terrell, and although he was a late full qualifier out of Cypress Creek High School, he does believe that Texas State is targeting him for the 2016 class, and to be a mid-year signee come December.

Out of Cy-Creek, Aldridge was under recruited, but he contributes that also to being a borderline qualifier which scared off some schools. So he headed west to Yuma, Arizona, and is now on the verge of having plenty of options to get to the D1 ranks.

Although Texas State is his only offer at the moment, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, UTSA, and South Alabama have all been in contact and are picking up their recruiting efforts. He plans on taking an unofficial visit to Arizona rather soon, before the spring is out.

When it comes to the Bobcats, it's an option he's seriously considering and could see himself coming back to the Lone Star State.

"I'm looking forward to get to the next level as soon as I can, and be a mid year transfer. I'm always looking forward to going back home. I'm interested in it (Texas State), and it's the only school I have close to home," said Aldridge.

For the time being we'll be listing Aldridge's position as a running back, but the coaching staff has told him they envision him playing both, wide receiver and running back. It's the same position that current senior C.J. Best anchors for Texas State, and 2015 signee Bralon Hutchison will be playing.
