Juco CB Has 5

When it comes to landing recruits from the south, Texas State has landed a few over the last two cycles and there back at it, targeting this Juco Cornerback from Mississippi.

Over the last few weeks, Texas State has targeted a hand few of prospects from the Juco ranks. On Wednesday afternoon, they added another target to the board in Quinn Tiggs of Itawamba JC (MS).

"Coach Tatum came down today (Wednesday) and called me out of class. I met with him, he had met me before and told me he was going to come see me," said Tiggs. "I sat down with him and he told me about the campus and the program. He finished out the meeting with saying that he wanted to offer me. I really wasn't expecting it, it was a good surprise."

Tiggs is a 6'0" 190lb cornerback, with 4.5 speed who now has a total of 5 offers: Middle Tennessee State, Arkansas State, Southern Mississippi, Southern Alabama, and now the Bobcats.

The staff commented on his game and how smooth he is on the outside. Specifically, two things jumped out during his evaluation, how he transitions out of his backpedals on breaks, and that he's a physical corner that will not mind mixing it up.

His plans are to be ready come the fall and be a mid-year transfer in December. The Bobcats are a fairly new program to him, and he's already even talked to the staff about possibly getting down to San Marcos during the summer. For the time being, he's letting things play out.

"I've heard of them (Texas State), but it's pretty a much new program. I'm taking their offer serious, but I'm just letting the recruiting process workout itself right now," said Tiggs.

Tiggs will have 2 years to play at the next level, once he transfers this fall. Quinn is originally from Tupelo, Mississippi.
