Head Coach Danny Kaspar and his staff added the 6th and final signee to the '15 class on Wednesday morning. This Juco shooting guard can shoot, defend, and has great lineage in the bloodlines. Here's TXST's release.

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State men’s basketball team announced the signing of 6-4 guard Anthony Roberson to a National Letter of Intent for the 2015-16 season. Roberson comes to San Marcos after playing at Weatherford Junior College.

“Anthony was an all conference performer at Weatherford Junior College this past season,” head coach Danny Kaspar said. “He averaged 11.7 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game.”

Roberson also amassed a team-high 50 blocks to go with his offensive numbers. He scored a season-high 30 points against Southwestern Christian Community College, one of four games this year with over 20 points. He was very efficient from the field, shooting 50.2 percent (102-of-203). Two years ago he was named to the Region V Honorable Mention list before earning First Team honors this season.

“Anthony was a late bloomer that grew three or four inches after high school,” Kaspar said. “He has developed into a very fine basketball player that we feel can be a great defender for us.”

Anthony comes from a pedigreed background with multiple members of his family playing professional or collegiate sports. His father played for New Mexico State while his brother, Andre plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder, his sister Arielle plays at Colorado University. Another sibling, Ashlee played professional basketball overseas and another sister, Amber, plays professional volleyball overseas.

He chose Texas State over schools such as UT Arlington, UC Riverside, Nevada and the University of Evansville.
