Texas Tech Defeats SDSU 57-48

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (20-12) moved one step closer to an NIT championship with a victory over San Diego State. Robert Tomaszek led all scorers with 14 points.

After a slow start, the Texas Tech offense finally found a rhythm.  The Red Raiders used a 13-0 run to take a 26-12 lead with 6:12 left in the half.  San Diego State made a late run to close the gap to 33-21 at the half.  In the second half, the Red Raiders fell prey to their familiar shooting woes.  The offensive collapse allowed San Diego State to get back into the game, but the Red Raiders were able to fend off the attack.  Texas Tech won by a final score of 57-48.

Offense

This was one of those nights where Andre Emmett didn't have a great game and other players had to pick up the slack.  Robert Tomaszec led the way with 14 points.  Kasib Powell added another 12 points.  This offense definitely needs Emmett to produce if it is going to have any success.

Defense

The defense really deserves the credit for this win.  Any time you can hold an opponent under 50 points your team will have a good chance of winning the game.  Tonight's game was no exception.  The Red Raiders stepped up their defense at key moments, giving them the win.
