Texas Tech looks for stability and continuity in the new season.

Texas Tech Scout College Football Preview

Last Season's Record: 8-5

Returning Starters/Letterwinners: 12/52

Key Losses: Lyle Leong (It's never easy to replace 19 TD receptions), Colby Whitlock (All Big 12 anchor of the defensive line's interior), Bront Bird (Not only the team's leading tackler, but also the defense's quarterback)

Key Returnees: LaAdrian Waddle (Left tackle with All American ability), Tre Porter (A shut-down corner and wide-ranging safety rolled into one), Cqulin Hubert (With experience this sophomore could develop into one of the most feared linebackers in the Big 12)

Best Game: October 8, Home/Texas A&M, Texas Tech 34 Texas A&M 33

Projected Finish: 9-4

Outlook: Look for the Red Raiders to be a better team because of the continuity and stability that will come with the personnel's second year under Tommy Tuberville. The defense, in particular, will be improved. Trips to Texas and Oklahoma, however, preclude a truly special season.
